The Supreme Court of India will today begin hearing one of the most politically charged cases in recent years \u2014 the dispute over the Shiv Sena\u2019s iconic \u201cBow and Arrow\u201d symbo<\/strong>l \u2014 a battle that has come to define Maharashtra\u2019s shifting power dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The case originates from a petition filed by Uddhav Thackeray<\/strong>, chief of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction, challenging the Election Commission of India\u2019s (ECI) <\/strong>order dated February 17, 2023,<\/strong> which recognised Eknath Shinde\u2019s camp<\/strong> as the \u201creal Shiv Sena\u201d and granted it the original party symbol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The split, which began in 2022 when Shinde led a dramatic rebellion that brought down the Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA)<\/strong> government, has since reshaped Maharashtra\u2019s political landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
