Traffic Curbs in Mumbai Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit for Maritime Week 2025

The Mumbai Police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the India Maritime Week 2025 at NESCO, Goregaon, on Wednesday, October 29. Movement of heavy vehicles will be prohibited on the Western Express Highway (WEH) between Vakola Flyover and Dahisar Toll Naka, in both directions, from 2 pm to 9 pm. The restrictions aim to ensure security and smooth traffic flow during the high-profile event. Emergency services, VVIP security vehicles, and other authorised transport will be allowed. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and follow traffic police instructions to avoid delays. The India Maritime Week, themed “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision,” will see participation from over 85 countries and 350 global speakers, highlighting India’s growing maritime strength. Cyclone Alert: Andhra Pradesh Braces for Montha Landfall Tonight

Heavy rain and strong winds lashed several parts of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday as Cyclone Montha moved closer to the coast. Wind speeds touched up to 80 kmph in Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, Konaseema, Krishna, West Godavari, and Vizianagaram districts, prompting a red alert. More than 10,000 residents have been shifted to relief camps set up in schools and government buildings. Authorities have opened 242 medical camps and placed 283 ambulances on standby, while NDRF and SDRF teams remain deployed across vulnerable coastal stretches. The cyclone is expected to make landfall between Kakinada and Machilipatnam late Tuesday night, with wind speeds possibly reaching 110 kmph.
